In 2021, we made announcements aimed at strengthening our commitment to environmental health and minimizing our impact on climate change. 

We are committed to:

  • Achieving operational net zero emissions by 2035.
  • Working towards a paperless consumer and provider experience in the next 2 to 3 years.
  • Creating systemic change by co-chairing the National Academy of Medicine’s Climate Collaborative to meaningfully reduce the carbon footprint of the U.S. health system.

Maintaining sound governance and oversight of our environmental management efforts

Our environmental management efforts are overseen by our chief financial officer and senior vice president of Corporate Services. The Public Policy Strategies and Responsibility Committee of the Board of Directors oversees our Corporate Environmental Policy.
